Love Island fans left reeling as Matt brutally dumps Kaz over Tyler antics

Love Island viewers have been left reeling after Matthew MacNabb shut down his romance with Kaz Kamwi.

The Northern Irish marketing expert had struck up a romance with Kaz after she was upset to learn her previous partner in the villa, Tyler Cruickshank had been unfaithful in Casa Amor.

Tyler returned to the main villa with Casa Amor girl Clarisse Juliette, whilst a furious Kaz recoupled with Matt.

However, as the days passed and she had fights with Tyler, it was clear the pair still carried torches for each other.

Their continued chats and flirtations did not go unnoticed by Matt, who was even informed by Tyler of their continued connection.

While Kaz had pushed both Matt and Tyler to each give her “100%”, Matt called out the fact she was keeping her options open.

As the girls chose to save Tyler of all the boys in danger in Thursday night’s dumping, they cited their desire to make “a girl” - clearly Kaz - happier in the villa.

Faye Winter said: “We do believe that there’s someone in the girls who deserve that happiness as well."

After the dumping occurred, Matt took Kaz aside for a private chat and then told her “we’re done”.

He said he’d be keen to stay friends as it was clear they weren’t going to work out.

After his short and sharp dumping, he walked away and left Kaz utterly shocked.

She labelled Matthew the most “confusing” guy she had ever met in her life.

Kaz later told Liberty what had occurred before later telling Tyler and the pair appeared to take tentative steps to renew their romance with more trust.

Matt was seen in the kitchen telling Liam that he ended it as he wanted “honesty and integrity” above all else.

Naturally, fans on Twitter had a lot to say about the developments between Matt and Kaz.

One person penned: "The only thing Kaz has done wrong is not apologise to Matt. Everything else, she’s been top! Every girl in that house has been silly at some point so why isn’t she allowed to fall a few times?! #LoveIsland".

Another added: “MATT PUTTING KAZ IN HER PLACE HAS MADE MY 2021 and 2022”.

A different person tweeted: “Matt is just so straightforward with it. Love it. #LoveIsland

Meanwhile, one person penned: “Matt you can’t act like you didn’t know that you were a rebound like she literally said that if she didn’t see the picture she wouldn’t have picked you… #loveisland ”.

Elsewhere, one Love Island fan wrote: “Unpopular opinion: what Matt said make perfect sense and Kaz just didn’t want to acknowledge how right he was #LoveIsland ”.

Finally, one fan of the show concluded: “Kaz wants 100% trust and honesty... reckon Matt wanted that too #LoveIsland

*Love Island continues at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub, with previous episodes available on ITV Hub and added to BritBox the following morning.
