Love Island fans in hysterics as Chloe hides in cupboard before confronting Toby

Love Island fans were stumped on Wednesday night’s episode when Chloe Burrows was caught hiding in a food cupboard.

Viewers couldn’t help but laugh as Toby Aromolaran went searching for his other half Chloe to find her in the garden kitchen’s food storage unit.

After both almost being eliminated, Chloe wasn’t happy with Toby for apparently ignoring her throughout the day, despite them being coupled up and sharing a bed together.

As a result, it appeared she was avoiding him by diving into the cupboard for some time away from the cameras.

However, he caught her - and viewers were left giggling at the strange moment on Twitter.

“How long did Chloe hide in the cupboard waiting on Toby?!” questioned one, alongside a string of laughing emojis.

“Not Chloe hopping out of the cupboard I’m crying,” said another.

A third also found it funny and said: “The way chloe just popped out the cupboard just then killed me.”

Even narrator Iain Stirling got in on the joke, and over the scenes said: “She knows he likes a chocolate Hobnob around three, so she’s been hiding in the larder for 40 minutes, ready to pounce!”

Things got even more awkward between the pair once he’d found her though, with Chloe pulling him for a chat about his behaviour towards her.

Sitting by the fire pit, Chloe surprised Toby as she told him: "I'm really annoyed at you if I'm honest.

"Do you think that how you acted is cool?"

"Umm... I don't feel like I've acted in a bad way?" Toby responded.

"Even last night though, did you not think it was weird like we literally didn't speak?" Chloe said, and when Toby remained silent she added: "Yeah, that was weird."

"Well if I didn't care about you, I wouldn't have made you a coffee," Toby argued back.

"It's still morning! It's not even lunch yet. Do you expect me to be attached at the hip from first thing in the morning?"

Chloe added that she was just expecting him to not ignore her, branding the attitude "muggy" and that it might have been his age causing him to act that way.

While they eventually hugged it out and moved on, Liberty Poole and Faye Winter noticed that it was "more of a friend hug" than something romantic.

Is there trouble in paradise?

Love Island continues weeknights at 9pm on ITV2.
