Love Island fans have been left reeling after ex-contestant Hugo revealed Jake and Liberty had one rocky moment that wasn't aired.
The infamous islander, known for his friendzoning abilities, took to TikTok after both Jake and Liberty opted to leave the villa this week.
And Hugo revealed that he and Liberty had a chat when Jake decided he wanted to get to know Mille after she arrived in the villa.
However, the clip was never aired and no such problems were seen in 'Jiberty's' relationship until it came to a sudden end this week.
Hugo captioned his video with: "When Lib pulls you for chats after Jakey wanted to get to know Millie but the show didn't air it to protect 'Jiberty' and now this happens."
He added: "Imagine what could have been."
In the comments section he continued: "FYI, this was the day after Cinda and Millie came in, literally over a month ago! Relax, no ones getting digged out. Jakeys my boy and Lib is class.
"Both Lib and Jake are genuine, I've no idea why it fizzled out, I wasn't there so I can't really comment. Looking forward to seeing them both soon."
Meanwhile, Love Island star Jake Cornish has hit out at claims he was mentally abusing his on-screen girlfriend Liberty Poole during their time on the show.
The 24-year-old water engineer from Weston-super–Mare was paired with 21-year-old Lib during the first few hours of the 2021 series of the hit ITV2 show and were hot favourites to win.
However, their romance came apart at the seams just days before the live final as Liberty was shown footage that suggested Jake hadn’t been immediately sexually attracted to him as their fellow Islanders questioned if he was genuine.
But the couple’s once rock-solid romance collapsed last week – and they opted to quit the show together rather than limp towards the finish line and the £50,000 prize while fearing their relationship was doomed.
While other scenes of the series showed Jake criticising Liberty over her style choices and messy habits – with fans fearing he would try to ‘change’ her ways to suite his own desires.
Hitting out at fan speculation, Jake told The Sun on Sunday: “It’s not nice to think that things I’ve said are coming across as though I’m trying to make someone change.
“I’m not. Liberty is Lib. That’s the girl I fell in love with. I’m not trying to change her.”
The reality star added that he is only just coming to realise what he threw away after wasting seven weeks of the show growing close to Liberty only to split days from the final.
He said: “I think the split is just sinking in now. It’s a bit of a gut-wrenching feeling.”
