Love Island fans furious as Maura moves in on Curtis 'before Amy's bed is cold'

Love Island was awash with emotions as Amy Hart called time on her stay in the ITV2 dating show.

After giving a tearful speech to her fellow islanders, including professional dancer Curtis Pritchard, who broke her heart after admitting there was no romantic connection when she admitted to falling in love with him.

Amy believed her time in the villa had become untenable, as she couldn't watch Curtis get romantically involved with another islander.

Irish pit girl Maura Higgins had previously declared a surprise interest in Curtis and this was enough for Amy to call it a day and jet back to Blighty.

No sooner as she was out of the door, Maura was making another beeline for Curtis to see whether they were a goer, now that Amy was packed and gone.

Non-committal to the last, Curtis was still hurting from Amy's shock exit, with pangs of guilt no doubt biting.

Viewers at home were incensed though, claiming Maura was being 'insensitive' as she made her move 'before Amy's bed was even cold'.

They took to Twitter in their droves to pour scorn on any budding romance, with many doubting the sincerity of either Maura or Curtis.

One fan wrote: "Why is this snake Maura crying at Amy speech like she wasn’t waiting for her opportunity to pounce on Curtis"

Another couldn't believe how Curtis has 'turned': "Omg im not ready for this episode! Curtis turned out to be such a game player! If he dares get with Maura."

A third pointed out: "The fact that no one in the villa sees Maura and Curtis as a match speaks LEVELS. # LoveIsIand"

While another reckons there is no spark: "Maura really needs to stop forcing this connection with Curtis. It isn't there. # loveisland"

Whether Curtis and Maura will become an 'item' is yet to be seen but there doesn't seem a huge groundswell of support that could see them crowned the winners of Love Island.

*Love Island airs all week at 9pm on ITV2.
