Love Island fans fume at ‘rigged’ final as Gemma and Luca make top two

Love Island fans have been left furious after Dami Hope and Indiyah Pollack were axed from the final ahead of Luca Bish and Gemma Owen.

The final four in the Love Island villa going into the final were Davide Sanclimenti and Ekin-Su Cülcüloğlu, Gemma Owen and Luca Bish, Indiyah Polack and Dami Hope and Tasha Ghouri and Andrew Le Page.

On Monday night, Laura Whitmore finally entered the villa to reveal which couple had triumphed in the ITV2 dating show’s eight series.

But fans were left shocked when the final unfolded and saw Dami and Indiyah axed ahead of Gemma and Luca.

Taking to Twitter, one fan wrote: “Absolutely not, recount now,” as another tweeted: “WDYM INDIYAH AND DAMI WERE BELOW LUCA AND GEMMA? SHOW'S RIGGED.”

“People really think Gemma and Luca have more chemistry than Dami, Indiyah, Andrew and Tasha??” another tweeted.

“Indiyah and Dami coming 3rd after Luca and Gemma...despite the fact that the nation has to have seen multiple red flags in the latter couple?! Make it make sense,” a fellow fan posted.

In the final episode of the ITV2 dating show, the villa garden was beautifully transformed for Monday night’s Love Island 2022 Summer Ball, which saw the Islanders arrive in their finery.

As they took their seats for the evening, it was up to the couples to one by one read their declarations to each other – romance, tears of joy and emotion abounded as each couple expressed their true feelings.

Ahead of the dramatic final, the bookies were backing Davide and Ekin-Su for the win to take home the prize money.

The fan favourite couple were odds-on favourites to go all the way and be crowned champions of this year's series of Love Island.

Betfred had the pair as 10/1 to take home the £50,000 cash prize (ITV)

Befred had the Italian business owner and the Turkish actress as 1/8 on to win the public vote this evening – meaning gamblers would have to part with £8 in return for winning an additional £1!

The gambling company also predicted the fiery couple may become the first couple not to split the £50,000 cash prize – with both stars down as 25/1 to steal the prize money if they win.
