Love Island fans flip over pancake wars as Ekin-Su and Nathalia face off

It's gone 'flipping' mad on Love Island tonight (Friday, July 22) as Ekin-Su and new Bombshell Nathalia go head-to-head, or pan-to-pan, in a breakfast challenge to win over Italian Islander, Davide. After the Brazilian Bombshell, who entered the villa on Wednesday evening with three other newbies, called Ekin-Su, 'Ekin-Who?''

The pair decide to have a pancake-off after disagreeing over cuisine and Ekin-Su thought Nathalia had an 'issue' with her and told her to 'drop the attitude'. Then they start passive aggressively calling each other 'my love' and 'babe'.' Ekin-Su tells Nathalia: “Do you know what I’ve learnt my love, the best way to end an argument is cooking, so you can prove to me with your pancakes my love, to see how good you are.”

Nathalia responded: “I don’t need to prove anything babe, honestly who are you for me to prove anything?” Ekin-Su answered: “I am Ekin-Su babe and there's only one of me.” Nathalia questions again: “Who is that to me? Who is that to me though, Ekin-who..?”

The conversation ended with Luca announcing to the Villa: “It ends in the kitchen, tomorrow morning, be there, Turkey Vs Brazil” with Nathalia laughing as she says: “The battle of the pancakes." The next morning, the two women walked in for their cook-off, arriving with their fellow Islanders acting as bodyguards, trainers and fans and Davide blind taste-tested their efforts with Luca spooning the pancakes into his mouth, deciding that Ekin-su took the title.

Viewers were backing Ekin-su before at the impending battle with one Twitter user saying: "Ekins pancakes can taste horrible for all I care, but she better win." And another added: "Davide even if Ekin su pancakes aren’t good, they are the best thing you ever tasted."

While other viewers were wondering what had happened to the show, with pancake competitions being the height of excitement: "A fckn battle? In season 2 a girl accidentally spilled a drink on another girl and they swung for each other. What has this show become?" Another said: "When did we start resolving arguments with flipping pancakes. Love island is not the love island we knew before."

Earlier in the episode Nathalia was screening Adam and Davide for love interest potential and Ekin-Su was fuming, but Davide wanted to make it clear to the new Islander that he was good with his partner for most of the series. And Danica got close to newcomer, Jamie.
