Love Island fans divided over Laura Whitmore - with some saying show has been ‘ruined’

Love Island fans got their first taste of the new winter edition of the show last night, but viewers have been left divided on Laura Whitmore.

The new host was announced as the replacement for Caroline Flack, who stood down after facing an assault charge.

The Irish presenter was sent a good luck message from Caroline days before the series was due to start.

The new series sees the fresh islanders head to a brand new villa in Cape Town, South Africa.

The series is also being narrated as normal by Iain Stirling, who is in a relationship with Laura.

But the new host was met with a divided reaction on Twitter, with one even saying the show had been ‘ruined’.

One said: “Sorry but Laura Whitmore is nothing on Caroline Flack.”

Another said: “Already I much prefer Laura Whitmore. She seems way more friendly like a pal talking to people on her same level.”

A third tweeted: “I know it’s been 20 seconds but I’m massively obsessed with Laura Whitmore already.”

Another fan said: “Get Laura Whitmore the hell out of here.”

Other viewers added that the new host should have been Maya Jama, Jake Quickenden or Gemma Collins.

But some were left with nothing but praise the presenter, with one saying she was the 'woman we’ve been waiting for all along’.
