Love Island fans convinced Liam was about to propose to Millie during interview

Love Island fans were left convinced winner Liam Reardon was about to propose to Millie Court in a confusing interview scene.

The couple were announced as the 2021 champions on Monday night’s show and went on to share the £50,000 prize money.

However, earlier in the show when they spoke with presenter Laura Whitmore, a confusing exchange occurred that left some thinking Liam was about to make an even bigger declaration.

Laura said to Liam and Millie: "Well, you've already said the L-word, so boyfriend and girlfriend on the cards? You going to do a Chloe and Toby and get married? I don't think Toby knows that yet."

Millie replied: "I don't know, we definitely will be one day, won't we?"

Liam then said: "It has been on my mind for a while, so..."

The Welsh stud then turned to Millie, prompting cheers from the live audience.

Millie started laughing gleefully as their fellow finalists applauded them.

Amongst the loud cheers, viewers could only barely make out Liam asking: "Will you be my girlfriend?"

Millie said "Yes!" before kissing him and Laura looking gleeful at what happened.

Laura responded: "I mean, you've already met the family...I didn't think that was going to happen there! I love that I witnessed that. How do you feel?"

"Oh my god," exclaimed Millie, "I'm a bit in shock, that was good."

Laura concluded: "On that, Millie and Liam everyone, boyfriend and girlfriend!"

However, the speed of the scene and the noise from those present led some at home to think Liam was about to propose marriage to Millie.

One Love Island viewer penned on Twitter : "DID LIAM JUST PROPOSE TO MILLIE #LoveIsland ".

A different fan noted: "Does anyone care to explain to me or did I miss smfn… did Liam just propose to Millie? #LoveIsland ".

However, some viewers were convinced a bigger moment had or was about to occur (ITV)

Meanwhile, another viewer of the show wrote: "id Liam just propose to Millie or am I trippin? Like I genuinely don't know wtf just happened [laughing emoji] #LoveIsland ".

Elsewhere, another Millie and Liam fan commented: "My stomach almost fell out of my vagina thinking Liam was about to propose to Millie then #LoveIsland ".

Finally, one Love Island 2021 viewer concluded: "Honestly thought Liam about to Propose to Millie. #LoveIsland ".
