Love Island fans baffled over odd way Islanders are drinking from water bottles

Love Island viewers are furious about some of the action in last night's episode, but it wasn't a catfight or a surprise coupling that got them talking.

Fans of the ITV2 reality TV show have been ranting on Twitter about the way surfer girl Lucie has been drinking out of her water bottle.

They've noticed that Lucie, 21, tips the bottle up to take a sip, when the straw means she doesn't need to.

One impassioned viewer tweeted: "It's annoying me so much Lucie tips her water bottle to drink ....that is the point of the straw, so you don't need to tip."

"Lucie hun, the water bottle has a straw in it. No need to tip it go drink it," another ranted.

A third posted: "It’s p***** me off much more than it should do that lucie keeps tipping up her water bottle when she drinks it.. How does she not understand the whole idea of that type of bottle."

Every contestant receives a personalised water bottle when they enter the villa.

Viewers became so desperate to have one that the show started flogging them as part of its range of official merchandise, though they'll set you back £15.

But not every name quite works in the wavy font used on the bottles.

Poor Curtis Pritchard's bottle appears to spell out a very rude word.

Last night Love Island was packed full of drama as the first recoupling took place.

The first dumping saw Callum Macleod sent home when none of the girls chose to couple up with him.

Perhaps the biggest twist of the night was when Lucie chose to be with Joe, after getting caught up in a love triangle with Tommy Fury.
