Love Island contestant spotted in Nottingham restaurant loved by celebs including Michael Bublé

A Love Island contestant was spotted having his meal in a Nottingham restaurant that's been visited over the years by celebrities including Michael Bublé. Sunny Anand, who co-runs The Cumin Indian restaurant on Main Marian Way, said he was "shocked" when he saw islander Ikenna Ekwonna entering his venue.

The 50-year-old, from West Bridgford, added: "I was surprised because I recognised him immediately. We watch the show as a family and I was very proud when I saw that one of the contestants is from Nottingham."

Mr Ekwonna was part of season eight of the popular ITV2 show. He coupled up with Indiyah Polack in week one before he was dumped from the villa two weeks later. The 23-year-old pharmaceutical salesman, originally from Nottingham, made an impression on Mr Anand.

"He is such a warm, funny and friendly guy", Mr Anand said. "He had a great meal and said he will come again soon." Mr Anand said Mr Ekwonna "absolutely loved the meal".

However, he is not the only big name who has entered the restaurant. The award-winning venue prides itself for serving singers, famous cricket players, and Bollywood actors. Ekin-Su Culculoglu and Davide Sanclimenti were crowned the winners of this year's Love Island.

The restaurant has recently celebrated 15 years since it opened. Mr Anand runs the front of the house with his wife, Monika Anand, and his cousin Shelley Anand is the chef.

The boss added: "We had a few celebrities coming in. Michael Bublé came in a long time ago when he had a concert at the Motorpoint Arena. This must have been ten years ago. We have had a string of Bollywood actors who came and shot in Nottingham. We catered for them as well.

"And all the popular cricketers, we have catered for them as well. We have recently had our 15 year anniversary. We are a local business, but we get recognised in the community."
