Love Island contestant Amy Hart calls second villa Casa Amor 'mentally torturous'

Former Love Islandcontestant Amy Hart has branded the second villa, Casa Amor, as “pure hell” and “mentally torturous”.

Hart, 27, was the subject of widespread concern after being heartbroken when her former partner, Curtis Pritchard, returned to the main house from Casa Amor to admit he had developed feelings for Maura Higgins.

Hart eventually quit last year’s series of the ITV2 dating show after being dumped by Pritchard. She later revealed that she had 12 therapy sessions while on the show and cited her mental health as a major factor in her decision to quit.

Monday 3 February saw 12 new contestants arrive at the second villa in the winter series. The introduction of Casa Amor means the current cohort of islanders are split up, with the boys going on a “lads’ holiday” away from the original Love Island villa.

They are joined at Casa Amor by six new female islanders: Natalia, Eva, Molly, Jamie, Priscilla and Jade.

The women then receive a visit from host Laura Whitmore, who informs them that they will be joined by six new male housemates: Jordan, Ched, Josh, Alexi, George and Biggs.

“Casa Amor is literally mentally torturous when it all kicks off,” she wrote. “When you get back it is a totally different ball game, but not knowing what’s going on is pure hell. Sending so much love to the gals.”

She added in a second tweet: “And before people say ‘you know what you signed up for’, we knew it was coming, but I never knew five days could be that long (should have just gone home).”
