Majorca came to Gateshead on Monday night as friends and family of Love Island contestant Amber Gill threw a massive beach themed party in her honour.
Just like millions of others right around the country, Amber's nearest and dearest were glued to the telly as Love Island returned to our screens and they marked the launch of the new series in serious style with a party fit for the Love Island villa.
As well as adorning t-shirts with the 21 year old beauty therapist's face on, mam Vanessa had transformed her living room in Whickham into a seriously summery setting with inflatable palm trees and flamingos and cocktails, in time for some partying with 42 guests before episode one got going at 9pm.
Our first look at Love Island 2019 saw Amber first couple with Sherif, but then leave him standing as she stepped forward again for Callum, who reciprocated her interest by picking her.
She then caused a bit of a stir on Twitter by referring to the 28 year old as "old" but Vanessa thinks her daughter was maybe just saying that because she's not that interested.
"While her oldest boyfriend so far has been about 24/25, she's got older friends, so she definitely wouldn't have a problem with anyone that's 28," she joked.
"I think it's more down to the fact she's not gelling with him. They just didn't seem that comfortable with each other.
"Amber loves someone who can make her laugh and if Callum had her in hysterics straight away, age wouldn't have come into it at all."
Speaking to Chronicle Live last week, Vanessa tipped Tommy Fury would be Amber's 'type on paper' and is now hoping he picks her.
"I do think they'd be a good match...as long as he's got some banter," she added.
"From the clip we saw at the end of Monday night's episode, it looks like Tommy and Curtis get to speak to all the girls and I do think Amber would express an interest if she feels like she hasn't clicked with Callum."
