Love Island cancel Sunday night's show following death of Caroline Flack

ITV's Love Island will not air tonight (Sun, Feb 16) as the broadcaster has chosen to pull the episode following yesterday's news Caroline Flack has died.

Caroline, who presented the first five seasons of the ITV2 show, was found at her home on Saturday (Feb 15). The Saturday night spin-off of the reality was cancelled.

But the show is scheduled to be back on Monday and will include a tribute to the late Caroline Flack.

A spokesperson for ITV said: "After careful consultation between Caroline Flack's representatives and the production, and given how close we still are to the news, we've decided not to broadcast tonight’s episode out of respect."

There have been calls on social media since Saturday to cancel Love Island as Caroline is the third person connected with the show to take their own life.

The TV presenter, who first found fame on children's TV, had stepped down from the series following an assault allegation against her partner Lewis Burton.

The former tennis pro wrote on social media following the star's death: "My heart is broken we had something so special.

"I am so lost for words I am in so much pain I miss you so much I know you felt safe with me you always said I don't think about anything else when I am with you and I was not allowed to be there this time I kept asking and asking."

Most people who are thinking of taking their own life have shown warning signs beforehand. These can include becoming depressed, showing sudden changes in behaviour, talking about wanting to die and feelings of hopelessness.
