Love Island bosses 'working around the clock' to finish new Casa Amore villa

Love Island fans have been counting down the days until spin-off villa Casa Amor is introduced – however viewers may have to wait a bit longer because it’s reportedly still being built.

Casa Amor is the stage of the reality show where the male and female contestants are separated - with half of them heading to a completely new villa as two groups of new people move in to tempt the stars away from their partners.

Past episodes have resulted in couples breaking up, heads being turned, as well as some of the most dramatic scenes in UK reality TV history.

Yet the drama Casa Amor sparks is on hold as producers put the finishing touches on a brand new second villa.

According to The Sun, show bosses are aiming to introduce Casa Amor by the end of July.

A source said: “Everyone is working around the clock to make sure it looks the part, but it’s just not quite ready yet. As soon as it’s done, they’re going to have it on screen.”

Earlier this week, presenter Laura Whitmore delighted Love Island fans when she confirmed that Casa Amor will be returning the hit ITV2 dating show “soon”.

Viewers have been clamouring for the hotly-anticipated twist, which sees a new set of contestants try to entice the already coupled-up Islanders in another villa.

And during a Q&A on her Instagram Stories, Laura revealed that Casa Amor will be back on TV screens imminently.

“Are you going back over to the villa soon? And when does Casa Amor start?” one follower asked her.

“Oh, I get asked this a lot,” Laura replied. "First question, yes, second part, soon. What else can I tell ya?”

“I change my mind every day, every day, it’s ridiculous,” she said when asked who her favourite couple was so far.

“Also, Casa Amor hasn’t happened yet, and that throws a massive spanner in the works, it’ll all change,” Laura teased.

Casa Amor was first introduced back in 2017, and has set a high standard for explosive recouplings and drama.

In the first ever Casa Amor, Islander Kem Cetinay returned to the Love Island villa with Chyna Ellis, leaving Amber Davis devastated at her beau’s recoupling.

However, Kem and Amber later reunited, and they eventually won the third series of the dating show.

Another famous Casa Amor moment was in the fourth series back in 2018, when Jack Fincham came face to face with his ex-girlfriend, leaving Dani Dyer in floods of tears when she saw video footage of their reunion.

More than 2,500 viewers complained to Ofcom, claiming that the clip shown to Dani in the villa was deliberately misleading. The couple were soon reunited after a few days apart, and went on to win the show and scoop the £50,000 cash prize.

And who could forget Georgia Steel, who was devastated when Josh Denzel returned from Casa Amor with Kaz Crossley on his arm, leaving poor Georgia brutally dumped.

But perhaps the best thing to come out of Casa Amor is Love Island favourite Ovie Soko, who joined the fifth season of the show after coupling up with Anna Vakili.

He then went on to couple up with Amber Gill, before partnering with model India Reynolds, and eventually coming in third place.
