Love Island bosses think they've found the one with Maya Jama ahead of winter decision

Love Island bosses believe they have found the one with presenter Maya Jama as they prepare to commission another winter series in South Africa.

Although the most recent series of the hugely popular ITV2 reality dating show only finished a matter of weeks ago, it is reported that a winter series will hit our screens in 2024 due to the former Radio 1 DJ's popularity.

Maya, 28, replaced Laura Whitmore at the helm of the programme as it headed to South Africa for singletons to find love in a brand new villa.

Despite ratings for the latest series hitting a seven-year low, Maya definitely caught the attention of the viewers and bosses believe she can continue to increase the show's popularity.

A source told The Sun : "Maya has more than proved her worth as the presenter of Love Island and while the ratings for this winter series weren’t the best – she came out on top.

"Love Island have already informed the owners of the £1.2million villa in South Africa that they want to return there at the end of this year ahead of the winter 2024 show.

"With Maya at the helm for the summer series, ITV think she will only increase its popularity which they think will carry onto the next winter edition.

"Maya was crowned the winner of Love Island when her debut episode aired and ITV think she will only continue to make TV gold for them."

The news comes after Love Island winners Kai Fagan and Sanam Harrinanan addressed speculation about a shock engagement.

The couple took home the £50,000 prize pot for winning the ITV2 show and have been doing rounds of interviews since landing back in the UK.

Last week, Kai teased a proposal when the pair appeared together on radio station BBC Asian Network, on March 20.

Kai and Sanam, both 24, spoke about the rumours in a Q&A on his Instagram Story the following day, while answering questions submitted by fans whilst on a date in Wetherspoons.

One fan asked: "Are you engaged? Hope it's true. You guys are perfect".

Kai began their response by saying: "We're just going to clear this one up and let the world know. We are..." Sanam then finished the statement saying: "... not engaged".

"No, we are. We are," teased Kai before Sanam insisted: "No, we're not engaged. There's no ring." Kai subsequently added: "Not yet, but we will be. We promise you we will be".

Sanam went on to suggest that "one day" they will become engaged, which prompted her boyfriend to tease that it would be "soon". She responded to him: "Maybe".
