Love Island bosses have been forced to deny manipulating the show’s outcome following scandalous claims that producers had forced Jordan Hames into flirting with India Reynolds.
According to reports, ITV show bosses suggested the 24-year-old should get to know fellow model India, 28, as they were a likely pairing to win the show.
Jordan’s attraction to India led to a fiery row between him and Anna Vakili, who last night branded him a “game player” and a “user”.
The 29-year-old pharmacist went on to call Jordan an “embarrassment” for chatting to her love rival India.
Speaking to the Sun , a source claimed: “Jordan was pushed into saying he likes India in order to cause drama after producers told him he doesn’t have a chance of winning with Anna.
“Now that Michael Griffiths has left and the ongoing tension between him and ex Amber Gill is over, they needed something explosive to happen for the final week.”
The source claimed that the producers’ plot appeared to have worked, and branded the entire series “completely contrived”.
However, a Love Island spokesman denied the allegations, telling Mirror Online : “The opinions they have and the relationships formed are completely within the control of the Islanders themselves.”
If Jordan and India were to get together with just five days of the show left, it would leave current favourite Ovie Soko single and ready to couple up again.
The 28-year-old basketball player was hailed a hero last night after swooping in to rescue India from Anna’s epic takedown of Jordan.
Described as the most gentlemanly move ever seen on Love Island, Ovie was seen marching over to the group, taking the page three glamour girl by the hand and leading her away in an effort to extract her from the escalating row.
Ovie has established himself as such a fan favourite that there has even been a petition launched for him to become the first ever single winner of Love Island.
