Love Island 2023 viewers say segment 'can't come quick enough' following latest episode

Love Island viewers have been crying out for the return of Movie Night after being left "bored" by recent episodes. The popular Movie Night segment, which usually takes place in week six of the ITV2 series, sees the islanders given the chance to catch up on what they've missed whilst away at Casa Amor.

In previous seasons, secret conversations and unannounced kisses have been shown on the big screen, usually leading to drama in the main villa. And while ITV bosses haven't confirmed when or if the segment will return, viewers are all calling for its comeback.

During the episode that aired on Monday, February 20, the Islanders were treated to a party. One social media user wrote: "I feel like I’m over this season now, just give us movie night and then end it," while another added: "The party episode is usually so dead. When is movie night!!"

While a third commented: "I need it to be movie night I don’t care about another f***king party." One moment viewers want to see play out on the big screen, as well as many others, is when Olivia Hawkins forgot Kai Fagan's name, despite being coupled up.

It comes as the pair have been clashing following Casa Amor, which saw them both decide to recouple. Olivia with Maxwell Samuda and Kai with Sanam Harrinanan, respectively. Read more about this here.

In tonight's episode, the drama continued as Olivia pulled Kai for a chat and said: "I wanted to pull you for a chat because when I went to Casa things were good, things were really good and I just want to know what made you have these feelings.

"Thinking I’m not genuine, that I’m fake, I just want to know where that’s come from." Kai then replied: "I feel like you’re happy with Max, I’m happy with Sanam."

Olivia replied: "But that’s not the point I’m getting at, you’ve said these things and I was really hurt at the fire pit when you called me fake. That’s not the person I thought I knew, they’re very strong things to say. I do expect an apology for those comments." This prompted Kai to fire back: "I'm not apologising for anything… that's how I felt at the time."

Reacting to the chat, one person wrote: "Ohhh movie night cannot come quick enough I need Kai to see Olivia forgetting his name." In a similar vein, a second added: "I'm begging for movie night they show the 'not fake' Liv saying 'I've forgot his name'."

While a third wrote: "I can't wait for movie night so Kai can see Olivia say she forgot his name and Samie can watch Ron encourage Tom to recouple."

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITVX. For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
