Love Island 2022 will be the 'sexiest series we’ve ever had’ says narrator Iain Stirling

Love Island will be the 'sexiest series we’ve ever had’ says Iain Stirling, as fans gear up for the return of the hit ITV2 dating show.

Scottish funnyman Iain, who is married to host Laura Whitmore, is best known for narrating the show, and gave away a few titbits about the upcoming series.

This year, the contestants rumoured to be heading to the Spanish villa for a summer of love, include Zara McDermott ’s brother Brad, former WAG Sophie Draper, and Ronan Keating’s daughter Missy.

The 34-year-old spoke to new! Magazine about the eagerly anticipated return of Love Island, and this year could be the sauciest ever.

The usual villa has been ditched in favour of a new Majorcan abode, which is currently under construction, and is reportedly the most luxurious villa on Love Island yet.

Just days away from the premiere of the upcoming series on June 6, Iain said he’s not seen the new villa yet, because he likes to be surprised on the first day.

“I’ve not seen the villa. I like to wait and see it on the first day and meet the Islanders for the first time, so I’m like a viewer seeing it for the first time, too,” he said, as he joked he was “a little bit lazy” to check it out beforehand.

“I know it’s got a fire pit because I talked about that in the trailer and I imagine if there’s more working out space it’ll be the sexiest series we’ve ever had,” Iain teased.

The show rakes in around 3 million viewers per episode, and he confessed that the Love Island team had no idea it would ever be this successful.

“None of us expected it to become so big, so the fact we had so much fun making it and then all of a sudden it is everywhere, makes me really proud,” he shared.

And as for his ideal Love Island contestant, Iain picked an Oscar-winning actress, who is sure to ruffle up a few feathers.

“I really want Helen Mirren. I just think she’s a really good actor and I admire her. Maybe she could go in with Billy Connolly? He’s a legend,” he quipped.
