Love Island 2022: First male contestant revealed as Irish hunky microbiologist Dami Hope

Microbiologist Dami Hope is to turn his telescope towards the ladies in the new Love Island series.

The Dubliner, 26, will no doubt teach fellow contestants everything they could possibly want to know about fungi and microbes.

A source said: “Dami is brains and brawn, with impressive credentials in the lab as well as model good looks.

“If his tasty appearance doesn’t woo the ladies, he’ll certainly impress them with his knowledge of food hygiene and germ control.”

Dami is being lined up to appear in the ITV2 summer series, from next Monday.

Other contestants rumoured to be appearing include model Natasha Ghouri, 23, below, who would become the villa’s first deaf contestant.

She wore a cochlear implant in a campaign for online retailer ASOS last year.

Producers last week said contestants would be given training and guidance on using inclusive language around disability, sexuality, race and ethnicity.

Models Zach Hartman and Indiyah Polack have also been named as potential Islanders, with the full line-up revealed this week.

Hey, babes

Cynics might scoff that the latest crop of Love Islanders are flying to Majorca to find five minutes of fame rather than their soulmate.

But Camilla Thurlow and her husband Jamie Jewitt welcomed their second daughter Nora over the weekend.

The couple, who are also parents to 18-month-old Nell, met on the 2017 series of Love Island.

Nora is the sixth baby born to villa couples, with another on the way.

An impressive record for a dating show.
