Love Island 2021: Who is newcomer Aaron Simpson?

Love Island is set to receive a new boy, with just a few weeks left until the final.

Aaron Simpson is a professional footballer from Kent and he will make his debut in the villa alongside medical student Priya Gopaldas.

Before entering the villa, the 24-year-old has already said he has his sights set on Chloe Burrows or Mary Bedford, though he hasn't "got all my eggs in one basket."

Aaron has said he wanted to sign up to Love Island to "leave with a 'worldie.'"

He said: "I’m definitely looking for a long-lasting relationship. I’ve got all the player stuff out of my system, I’m ready to settle down now."

The newcomer is looking for "someone who is family orientated" because he is a big family man.

He said: "I’m very close to my mum, dad and my sister. I’ve got a massive family so someone that can deal with that."

Aaron is looking for a girl who doesn't take herself too seriously as he's a very spontaneous person.

He said he wants a girl "who has a personality, who doesn’t rely on me.

"I’m very confident and I can chat for ages so sometimes it’s probably easy to leave me to do all the talking in certain situations so someone who has a big enough personality to hold their own and put me in my place."

Aaron started playing football when he was around five years old and signed his first professional contract when he was 17.

Being a footballer, he said a lot of people assume he will be a player but he said: "I got all of that out of my system when I was younger and now I’m a lot more laid-back when it comes to dating."

Aaron feels he will get on very well with Toby Aromolaran because they have a lot in common. He also said he would get along with Jake Cornish and Liam Reardon.

The Kent native said his ideal date is going for drinks. For a second date he would love to do something "fun and adventurous like rock climbing or zip wiring.

"I love doing something that is a bit different."

Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2 and ITV Hub.

Episodes are available the following morning on BritBox.
