Love Island 2021: What is coq au vin Rachel's favourite dish

So, coq au vin fan Rachel Finni joined the Love Island villa this evening and immediately she was talking to the two single boys, Brand and Chuggs.

She was keen to find out if the boys were any good in the kitchen and made a fatal error when describing to Brad what coq au vin is.

Rachel, 29, and a luxury travel specialist, told Brad that coq au vin is duck in a red wine sauce - but coq au vin is made with chicken. The new villa tenant has worked in many posh hotels and met George Clooney, but she's not quite up on French cuisine.

She's also fond of a good candlelit dinner, saying: "My dream date would be a complete surprise. I wouldn’t want to know it was coming. Like a scavenger hunt, you go somewhere whether it's a nice restaurant or somewhere candle lit. You’re having a laugh and then you go home and you have dessert or watch your favourite film and then rip your clothes off or whatever!"

So, sorry Brad, your duck feast won't be quite as described (if Rachel gets to cook it for you.)

What is coq au vin?

It's a French dish of chicken braised with wine, lardons, mushrooms, and optionally garlic.

A red Burgundy wine is typically used, though many regions of France make variants using local wines.
