Love Island 2021 viewers are not happy with change to show

Love Island 2021 has officially started with all 10 of the new contestants now coupled up and settling into the famous villa in Majorca.

They are Jake Cornish and Liberty Poole, Aaron Francis and Shannon Singh, Brad McClelland and Faye Winter, Hugo Hammond and Sharon Gaffka and Toby Aromolaran and Kaz Kamwi.

If you missed it, fear not, as you can catch up with everything that happened in the run-up and during the opening episode here.

The show wasn't without drama, however, with Love Island already announcing a bombshell to ruffle some feathers at the end of last night's episode.

Chloe Burrows from Bicester will be the first late arrival, but ahead of her debut appearance the 25-year-old sent the group a seductive voice note and not a text. You can read more about Chloe here.

With the contestants sat around the fire pit, Toby's phone buzzed as he told the others: "I've got a text you know... I've got a voice note"

However, instead of a written text as usual, Toby then played Chloe's voice note.

She could be heard saying: "Hey boys. How are you? Chloe here. I've just arrived and I'm outside the front of the Villa.

"I'd like to take you all on a date but I'll let you guys decide who wants to come and join me. Hopefully I'll see you soon."

Fans were disappointed by the change, however, with one writing: "'I've got a voice note' ?????? WTF IS THIS. WHERE'S THE 'I've got a text!!"

Chloe Burrows is the first late arrival on Love Island (ITV)

"There's voice notes this year?" questioned another.

While a third wrote: "Wooow a voice note instead of a text? It's really 2021"

And a fourth added: "'I've got a voice note' doesn't sound right AT ALL."

"I'VE GOT A VOICE NOTE?!!! Well this is new," agreed another.

Love Island continues weekdays at 9pm on ITV2.
