Where is the Love Island villa and can you stay there?

Love Island is back for another series of sun, romance and – fingers crossed – drama.

The hit ITV2 show, which was one of the biggest ratings smashes of 2018, is presented by Caroline Flack – but where exactly is it filmed?

While it's known that the villa is situated on the island of Majorca, its precise location is kept secret by bosses. What is known, though, is that the show is filmed in the east stretch of the island in a place named Sant Llorenc des Cardassar. For those who want to go searching, the nearest airport is Palma.

Last year’s series was won by Dani Dyer and Jack Fincham who won the hearts of the nation and took home the £50,000 prize money.

Among this year’s 12 hopefuls are a beauty therapist, a semi-pro rugby player, and a ballroom dancer. Also set to appear is 28-year-old pharmacist Anna Vakili, the first supposedly “plus-size” contestant. Twenty-one-year-old beauty therapist Amber Gill and 23-year-old scientist Yewande Biala are also amongst the women competing this year. As usual, Caroline Flack will take on presenting duties.

Tommy Fury, the 22-year-old brother of boxer Tyson Fury, will join the line-up of male contestants, alongside the younger brother of Strictly Come Dancing star AJ Pritchard, Curtis.

As with last year’s series, new episodes will be broadcast six days a week. Find out everything else you need to know about the series here.
