If what it is is what it is, then what it is… is the end of Love Island. After eight weeks of grafting, tanning and far too much repetition of “young lady”, the impossibly ripped collection of sexual lumps will be departing ITV2 for spin-off series, night club appearances and occasional debates on the This Morning sofa.
But until then, here’s everything you need to know about the remaining episodes of Love Island2019, which couple are the favourites to win, and whether the cast will be reuniting for one last flirt in the aftermath.
When is the Love Island final being shown?
Love Island 2019 will come to an end on Monday 29 July, with an extended episode that will be shown from 9pm to 10.35pm on ITV2.
What will happen in it?
While every series of Love Island has shaken up the look and feel of the final (there have been wedding and prom themes in the past), the specific final process has so far remained the same.
In the final, the couple voted the favourite by the audience at home are handed cards that read “Love” on one side and “Money” on the other. If both couples choose love, they split the £50,000 between them. Should one pick love and the other money, then the one who picked money walks away with the full cash prize. However, if they both pick money, both partners leave empty-handed.
Every series so far has seen the winning couples split the prize money, but as ever that could change with the 2019 series.
Will there be a reunion episode?
Love Island: The Reunion has been confirmed, but an official release date is still up in the air. It is speculated, however, that it will be broadcast the Sunday after the finale, which would be 4 August.
Who is favourite to win?
According to the latest Ladbrokes odds, Molly-Mae Hague and Tommy Fury remain the 1/2 favourites to take home the £50,000 prize – even after last night’s episode saw Molly-Mae reveal she was “f***ing livid” after being accused of faking her love for Tommy – while Ovie Soko and India Reynolds rank in second.
Least likely to win are Chris Taylor and Harley Brash, whose odds currently stand at a dismal 50/1.
How can you watch Love Island?
In the UK, viewers can watch the TV broadcast on ITV2. They can also watch it live online on the ITV hub.
Love Island continues tonight at 9pm on ITV2.
