Love Island 2019: Filming has officially started as Caroline Flack gets set to meet new contestants

Are you ready for another "long, hot summer?"

Love Island fans are getting excited after Caroline Flack confirmed on Instagram that filming for the wildly popular reality show has started.

The Mirror reports that she told followers the filming starts this week - and that by the end of the week she will "potentially" have met this year's contestants.

The presenter made the announcement on Instagram as she filmed herself heading into the gym.

"What's really exciting about this week is that we start filming for Love Island 2019," she revealed.

"And by the end of the week I'm going to have potentially have seen the cast for this year which is really exciting - and mad that's it's come around this fast," Caroline added.

"So I'll let you know what happens. It's going to be a long, hot summer and all that," she said echoing her catchphrase from the series.

Posting a video from her session in the gym, she wrote: "Let's do this island prep."

The hugely popular ITV2 dating show usually starts in June with single hopefuls descending on the luxury Majorca villa in the hopes of finding love.

Producers will likely be hoping for more romantic success this year - as there's been heartbreak for every single one of last year's couples, with none still together after the show.
