Love Island 2018 LIVE: New contestants revealed, Kendall exits and the girls talk Brexit

Love Island continued tonight, with the fourth series' first recoupling ceremony taking place.

Adam pre-warned Kendall he planned to ditch her, before swiftly bounding off to kiss new partner Rosie by the fire pit. Kendall became the first person to leave the show this year, though three new contestants were teased who will be introduced as a surprise on Sunday night.

Thursday's edition saw the relentlessly spurned Dr. Alex finally get his first date of the series with newcomer Rosie, while Niall and Georgia sat a few feet away from them, getting straight to the meat of any stirring intellectual conversation: how does she feel about chicken dippers?

Clearly, the answer pleased Niall enough, as he launched straight into a kiss, which caused ripples of shock across the villa (that's all it takes).

Cut to Hayley angrily asserting that you "can't trust anyone" and referring to the whole business as a "game", despite having already scolded Eyal for using exactly the same terminology.

A game of 'Truth or Dare' then resulted in the bombshell that Jack would re-couple with Hayley if he had the chance, which ended up with Dani in floods of tears trying to rekindle her relationship with Jack. "It’s not that I don’t like you," she wept. “It’s just I worry because you’re what I know.” Jack was quick to reply: "Sometimes stick to what you know."

Can any of them tempt the original contestants away from their current partners given the deep spiritual and intellectual connections they've established over the past 5 days?

We'll find out on Sunday night when Love Island goes head-to-head in a ratings battle with Poldark, another show all about bare chests and people saying things of little consequence.

Goodnight readers! 'Where's your head at' mine's about to be plunged into acid by way of cleansing the past hour!

Three new human beings complete with limbs and vital organs will enter the house in Sunday night's episode. They look like this:

21:58
He picks Rosie, which means Kendall is heading home. It's probably for the best, if she's genuine about looking for love she probably has a better chance finding it in a Costa at the airport on the way home
21:57
Or the secret third option of throwing yourself in the Balearic Sea (my hot tip)
21:56
Eyal picks Hayley, which leaves Adam choosing between Kendall and Rosie
21:55
A fairly besotted Niall stays with Georgia. I need to see some spurning! Spurn for me, Mallorca!
21:54
Essex sticks together. Jack and Dani renew their vows of 'kinda sorta likin each uvver I guess, I dunno early days innit'
21:53
And Alex stays with Samira, the pair having realised they're the only contestants with an IQ in double digits
21:52
Wes recouples with Laura, a purely strategic move
21:51
Everyone's feeling nervous ahead of the recoupling ceremony, as getting kicked off the show in week one means not even your local baker will sponsor you on Instagram
21:48
Adam's been taking his cues from the Leader of the Free World

Re-coupling ceremony next though. Forced! Drama!
21:44
Christ this is a slow episode, they missed a trick calling it Love Island and not Flesh Puddle
21:42
In fairness Descartes could never full work out where one's head is at, so what hope does Hayley have?
21:41
Found you this handy colour sampler for the contestants' personalities

21:36
"Does it mean we won't have cheese?"
"Does that mean it will be harder to go to Spain and stuff?"

Someone get Boris in there, these are the real questions facing the nation as it repositions in the European political landscape
21:35
*Awakes from slumber* The girls are discussing Brexit!!!!
21:33
Incidentally, the last time Adam was thrown under a bus, the bus shattered into a thousand pieces and he walked away unscathed
21:32
I love that literally just playing the game as intended constitutes being a snake. This show is starved of a villain so Adam has been thrown under the bus
