Louth GAA have paid tribute to US President Joe Biden and former Ireland rugby star Rob Kearney for lending their support to a new stadium venture.
Biden has strong ties to Louth and is a distant cousin of Kearney, who himself is a native of Cooley in North Louth and featured for Louth underage football sides before embarking on his professional rugby career with Leinster.
The US President took a trip to Louth on day two of his visit to Ireland and met up with Louth GAA Chairperson Peter Fitzpatrick in Dundalk.

Biden, Kearney and Tánaiste Micheal Martin all signed a Louth GAA jersey signalled their support for the new county stadium, a gesture which Louth GAA thanked them for.
"Louth GAA Would like to thank @POTUS Joe Biden, @KearneyRob and Tánaiste @MichealMartinTD for supporting the new Louth stadium and signing our Louth football jersey. All pictured today at the historic President Joe Biden visit in Dundalk today with @PFitzpatrickTD," reads a Louth GAA statement.
A new county ground for Louth has long been mooted and development has begun on a new stadium which will be built in Dundalk.
After years of false dawns, foreign investment was recently secured and planning permission has been granted.
Ardee has been the home of the Wee County for the past couple of years, while the Gaelic Grounds in Drogheda was the most frequently used ground for years before that.
