What’s Going To Happen
Get ready to have a whole lot of fun with what should be a wild and wacky shootout.
Arkansas State is good, but it’s not playing a lick of defense.
The Red Wolves have the second-worst D in college football, they’re getting destroyed by anyone and everyone’s running game, and the pass defense is even worse.
The crazy part about it is the defense actually can get behind the line and is just disruptive enough to give ULL QB Levi Lewis problems. He’s playing well, but it helps to have a loaded group of running backs who can take the pressure off. The Ragin’ Cajuns are going to push past 250 yards on the ground with relative ease.
But can the secondary hold down the ASU passing game?
ULL doesn’t do quite enough to get into the backfield, and it has to be ready to deal with a shootout against new ASU starting QB Layne Hatcher and the high-powered air show.
The freshman stepped in when Logan Bonner went down and threw for 440 yards and four scores in the win over Troy, and hit Georgia State for almost 300 yards with four touchdowns – and threw two picks in each game.
Hatcher will have his moments, and ASU’s offense will be terrific at home, but the defense will be on its heels all game long against the Ragin’ Cajun O.
