What’s Going To Happen
Louisiana Tech finally beat a decent team.
Beating FIU was okay, but that’s not having a whole lot of other tough battles to deal with. Give the team credit, though – it’s winning the games that are on the schedule.
The victory over Southern Miss last week, though, was the nice moment to push forward the fight to win the Conference USA West race, but now starts a run of three road games in the next four dates.
UTEP has lost its last five games and still hasn’t beaten an FBS team. It’s competitive and it’s had some nice moments, but it just can’t turn any sort of a corner. There’s no pass rush, the passing game doesn’t exist, and it’s the second-worst team in the country in both third down conversions and third down D.
The Bulldog backfield will have all day to work. The lack of a UTEP pass rush won’t be apparent against an offensive line that’s playing as well as any in Conference USA at times. The league’s best offense will take over early on, and it’ll be able to move the ball easily enough to be comfortable.
