Louise Redknapp says her mum fixed her broken heart and helped with song lyrics

Louise Redknapp admits it’s been a “tough few years”.

But the singer says her mum Lynne was on hand to help mend her broken heart after she split from hubby of 19 years Jamie. And she even helped her write some song lyrics.

Pals including Spice Girl Mel B and comic Leigh Francis watched Louise perform an intimate show at Soho House White City, where the 44-year-old opened up about ending her marriage to the footballer turned pundit.

“When you make a new album, especially after 18 years, it’s really bloody scary. Now and again you write a song and it takes you to another place. As it was very well documented, it was a very tough couple of years.

"Every day when I was down, my mum would say really encouraging words to me and I wrote them all down. She is a wise woman.”

Louise dedicated the song Breaking Back Together to her mum. It hints at her relationship woes in the lyric: “What makes you think you are allowed to treat me so unkindly?”

She said the song, on her new album Heavy Love, “got me through a really tough time”.

Mum probably deserves some royalties.

Louise has children Charley, 15, and Beau, 10, with Jamie, who she split with in 2017 after her turn on Strictly.

Meanwhile, before her album launch, Louise shared a cryptic post.

It read: “If it is right, it happens. The main thing is not to hurry. Nothing good gets away.”
