Louise Redknapp cancels Heavy Love tour as coronavirus fears grow

Louise Redknapp has become the latest star to cancel her tour amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The 44-year-old singer was scheduled to perform in venues across England and Scotland in the coming weeks on her Heavy Love tour.

But sadly, Louise has had to pull the shows after the government advised people to stay away from large public gatherings amid the COVID-19 crisis.

Mum-of-two Louise says she's taken the decision to cancel the tour for her new album out of concern for the health and safety for those who would be attending.

She wrote in an Instagram statement: "Hi everyone, following the latest government advice, I have taken the decision to cancel the remainder of the shows on the Heavy Love tour.

"As soon as I have more details on some rescheduled dates I promise you will be the first to know.

"For any ticket refunds please contact your point of purchaser. In the meantime please look after yourselves, and stay safe! Love Lou x"

Her fans were disappointed by the news but understood why she was doing it.

One replied: "Gutted... but right decision."

And another wrote: "Better to be safe hun. Well done"

Louise is just one of many performers who have cancelled tours and gigs in the wake of coronavirus.

A number of movies have also halted production or release, and TV is set to be hugely affected too.

Across the world, cinemas and theatres are closing their doors in a bid to stop the spread of the virus.

Louise recently opened up about her split from husband Jamie.

She said it's the "toughest thing" she's ever been through, but that they've been prioritising their sons Charlie and Beau since their split in 2017.

She said on Lorraine: "It's the toughest thing anyone will ever go through.

"It's the toughest thing I've ever experienced in my life and every day is a new challenge with it."
