For all those worried about what Louise Mensch gets up to when not attacking Labour MPs on Twitter, Monkey brings confirmation that the former Tory MP is now on the Murdoch payroll. And has been since May 2014.
A News Corp spokesman confirmed that Mensch has been working for the company owned by Rupert Murdoch on “digital projects in the creative/strategic arena”.
None of which should come as a surprise to Mensch’s LinkedIn followers, as she pointed out to Political Scrapbook this week.
But why the lack of fanfare over the appointment of the woman who asked Rupert whether he had considered resigning over phone hacking back in 2011? At the same select committee meeting, she left early after telling his son James that they had children the same age.
“We don’t do releases for (or discuss the details of) most personnel,” said the spokesman.
But what is she doing? “Fun stuff”, Mensch tells Monkey. Which perhaps explains why she is spending so much time on Twitter.
