Louise Currie - A correction
An article published on 17th November 2021 headlined, “Scots thug dragged wife out bed and battered her after thousands vanished from his account” included claims that the defendant had attacked his wife after “finding thousands of pounds were missing from his account”; the article described it as the man’s “business account”, and that the wife had control over the family finances.
Dailyrecord.co.uk has not been able to demonstrate that it was heard in court that this account was the man’s business account, nor that it had taken care over the accuracy of this claim.
This correction has been published following an upheld complaint by the Independent Press Standards Organisation.
