Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger 'will return as X Factor judges for a third time'

Louis Walsh and Nicole Scherzinger will be making a triumphant return to The X Factor for the third time.

It's been reported that the two favourite judges will join Simon Cowell on the judging panel as a trio for the celebrity version of the reality singing competition.

Both judges have been dropped twice before from The X Factor but have remained firm friends with the Syco boss.

According to the Sun , Louis and Nicole are in 'advanced discussions' to make their surprise comeback on the judging panel.

Louis was last on the show on the fourteenth series in 2017 but didn't return for the 2018 series. Nicole joined in 2012 before leaving in 2014, then returning in 2016 and was dropped once more for the 2018 series.

Louis revealed a few days ago that he was in talks with Simon to make a return - but alongside his pal Sharon Osbourne.

The music manager he is mediating between the pair after they fell out over comments Sharon made when she was dumped from the talent show in 2017.

Ozzy Osbourne’s wife told US DJ Howard Stern she wanted to drown Cowell before accusing him of underpaying her.

Louis, 66, said: “I’m speaking to Simon. Let’s see.”

If he does return, he wants Sharon, 66, as a fellow judge: “Sharon would be great.

“She’s burnt a few bridges, but that’s what’s good about her – she has an opinion. She’s never boring or predictable.”

Last year, Sharon raised eyebrows when she let rip at Simon, saying she’d “put a f***ing brick around his neck and throw him over”. She claimed he fired her for being too old.

But Louis says he’s confident Sharon and Simon, 59, will become friends again. “She was only joking,” he says. “It was all panto talk. They will make up. I’m going to mediate between them. I’ll do anything necessary.”
