Louis van Gaal has said he wants Manchester City to win the Premier League but he can see the title ending up at Anfield come May.
Manchester United's two biggest rivals are neck and neck at the top of table, with Liverpool currently leading the race on 76 points ahead of City with 74 - although the Blues do have a game in hand.
Van Gaal had high praise for Liverpool and City as he said they are both better than Barcelona and he believes the Merseysiders have the edge on Pep Guardiola's team.
"People think Barcelona are the best but they are not. Manchester City and Liverpool are more of a team than Barcelona - and Liverpool are more of a team than City," he says.
"In my philosophy the best team shall win but I hope for City because they play the best football."

Speaking about his past in England, the recently retired manager suggested he may have made the wrong decision by moving to United in 2014.
"Tottenham were a better selection because Manchester United were an old team and I knew I would have to transform them," Van Gaal said.
"Was it the wrong choice? Maybe, but I follow my heart. I worked at the number one team in the Netherlands, Germany, Spain and now also in England."
Van Gaal won the FA Cup with United in 2016 but his style of play did little to excite supporters and he was replaced by Jose Mourinho that summer.
