Louis Tomlinson speaks for the first time since the sudden death of his sister

Louis Tomlinson has spoken out for the first time since the sudden death of his sister last month.

The One Direction star's 18-year-old sister Félicité passed away on March 13 after a suspected heart attack.

Louis, 27, has not spoken about his tragic loss but has today taken to his official Twitter account to thank fans for their support.

In a short note, the X Factor judge said to his 33.2 million followers: "Just wanted to thank everyone for their lovely words over the past couple of weeks."

He also added that he is back at work, "Back in the studio today to vocal something I wrote a few months ago.

"Sending you all loads of love x."

Fans have jumped to send the father-of-one more messages of love and support calling him an "incredible guy".

Louis was left 'distraught' by his younger sibling's death which came just two years after the family suffered another devastating loss.

The singer and his sisters Charlotte (Lottie), Daisy and Phoebe lost their mother Johannah Deakin to leukemia in 2016 at the age of 43.

Félicité, an aspiring fashion designer, died at her flat in Earl's Court, west London with her death being treated as unexplained by police.

The teen was well-known on social media and regularly shared posts with her 1.3 million followers on Instagram.
