Louis Tomlinson says he won't go on BBC Breakfast again after hosts quiz him about One Direction

Singer Louis Tomlinson has vowed never to return to the BBC Breakfast sofa after an awkward interview this morning.

Fans piled on to support the former One Direction member and accused Dan Walker and Louise Minchin of not asking enough questions about his debut solo album, Walls.

The singer tweeted to his 33.5k followers:

But a puzzled Dan Walker was not going to let the criticism go unanswered, replying.

Tomlinson's fans did not hold back in sticking up for their hero, saying: "Louis looks so uncomfortable and awkward the whole interview. Next time do you research and not recycle questions that has been asked and heard a million times!" one fan wrote.

Others added: "I'm so sorry for you, this was awkward we love you Louis."

To be fair to the singer he did stick up for himself during the interview saying: "I've only just released my first album, that's what I'm here for."

Dan Walker tweeted after the interview: "We asked him loads of questions about his new album but also in the context of his past success. Thanks for watching."
