Louis Tomlinson quits Simon Cowell's record label after 10 years

Louis Tomlinson has quit Simon Cowell's record label.

The former One Direction star took to Twitter to reveal he'd parted ways with Syco Music.

It comes a whole 10 years after he rose to fame on X Factor and signed a record deal with the label.

He continued to work with them when he went solo following the band's indefinite hiatus in 2016.

But now, the professional relationship is over.

He posted on Twitter: "Hope everyone is doing ok! Just wanted to let you know that Syco Music and I have agreed to part ways.

"I'm really excited for the future and to be back in the studio writing the next album. Can't wait to finally see you all on tour!! Stay safe and see you soon, Louis x"

Fans were excited by the prospect of new music.

One replied: "We’re excited for this new chapter in your career! Looking forward to all that’s to come."

Another wrote: "Can’t wait for what the future has in store for you :) Support you always, hope you’re excited !"

"Glad to hear you’re doing well! Been missing you so muchhhh," a third told him.

A music insider told The Sun : "Louis and his team felt they had come to the end of their working relationship with Syco and Simon didn't stand in the way of Louis leaving.

"They mutually agreed he could leave and the technicalities were sorted this week.

"He had been with another Sony label in the US, Arista, and the door is still open for him to discuss the possibility of staying with them."

Louis is the last of the One Direction boys to part ways with Syco.

He was the only one of the five to stick with the label after going solo, with Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Niall Horan and Liam Payne all taking their talents to rival companies.

His announcement comes amid plenty of rumours that the lads are set to reunite for their 10th anniversary.

Liam has insisted it'll definitely happen in the future.

He told People: "I mean, it's a tough one. I can't promise any reunion plans because it just isn't it right now. I always put it down to music language because everyone's releasing at the moment with like two years worth of promo.

"But, you know, it still seems very hopeful in that department. I'm starting to think it's definitely gonna happen at some point. So it's exciting."
