Louis Tomlinson 'gutted' after being forced to reschedule tour dates due to coronavirus

Louis Tomlinson has become the latest musician to announce the delay of an upcoming tour.

The former One Direction singer said on social media that all of his tour dates for April and May are being rescheduled because of the pandemic.

The 28-year-old went on to say that he is 'gutted' about the decision but said the safety of his fans and crew were priority.

"Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, all of my tour dates for April & May 2020 are being rescheduled," he wrote on Twitter.

"I’m really gutted but of course the health and safety of all of my fans and tour crew needs to come first.

"I’ll be announcing the new dates very soon. Stay safe, Louis x" he concluded.

Fans quickly leapt to support the singer's decision to reschedule his tour for a later date.

Forming part of an international tour, Louis was due to make appearances in Ukraine, Russia, Dubai, Indonesia, New Zealand, Australia, Japan and South America in the next two months.

His U.K tour dates had already been pushed back to August 2020.

Louis' U.S tour dates, which were set to begin in June, have not been postponed as of yet.

This is the singer's first solo world tour and follows hot off the heels of his latest album Walls, which was released at the end of January.

At this point, Louis and his team are yet to announce the newly rescheduled dates of his international gigs.

His latest announcement followed just one day after pop singer Justin Bieber also announced that his 2020 was postponed because of the outbreak.

On March 25, fellow One Direction band mate Harry Styles also announced that he was postponing his UK and European tour until 2021 because of the pandemic.

"For the safety of yourself and others, please self-isolate. We’re all in this together. I can’t wait to see you out on the road as soon as it’s safe to do so. Until then, treat people with kindness," Harry wrote on Twitter alongside the announcement.
