Louis Tomlinson discussed opening up about grief five days before sister’s tragic death

Louis Tomlinson discussed opening up about grief just five days before the tragic death of his sister Félicité.

The former One Direction singer said during an interview on ITV’s Lorraine that we can all “talk about it a little bit more”.

Louis at the time was referencing his mother Johannah’s death in 2016 from leukaemia, which is the sad theme behind his latest single Two Of Us.

Days after the poignant interview, Félicité, 18, was found dead at her London home on March 13 after suffering a suspected heart attack.

Louis said about grief: "We can all talk about it a little bit more. I think that's why I felt good about singing the lyrics. It was a moment for me to speak about it publicly and put it onto lyrics.

"Mum was always obsessed with me playing piano. They said 'why don't you do the opening verse on piano?'. Normally I'd say no. But knowing she'd love the idea I just zoned into it and went for it and think I pulled it off."

In the interview, which he had given the thumbs up to air, he also discussed being a dad to Freddie, three.

He said: "I’ve said a few times I think it's the responsibility side of things which has made the process easier for me. Every time I spend time with Freddie you feel so much love.

"It doesn’t matter what's going on. In that moment that's all you're thinking about. Those times are priceless."

When asked about a One Direction reunion, Louis said although he isn’t sure when it will happen, he believes “it must”.

He said: "We are forever brothers. That's the reality. For everyone there is a real mutual respect. No one else can relate to us like the other boys.

“I don't really know the answer to that question [of a reunion]. The reality is I think it must. When the conversation will happen I don't know."

Lastly, addressing X Factor return, Louis revealed that Simon Cowell hasn’t asked him yet.

He also suggested that if it 'got in the way' of his music plans, he might not go back if he was asked.

Lorraine airs weekdays on ITV from 8.30am.
