Louis Riddick out of running for Steelers GM job

One of the candidates for the Pittsburgh Steelers general manager vacancy was ESPN analyst and former NFL pro personnel director Louis Riddick. The Steelers interviewed him to potentially replace Kevin Colbert. But with Riddick signing a new contract with ESPN to call NFL games, he is off the board.

Riddick worked in the league as either a pro scout or pro personnel director for 13 seasons. Riddick is a PA native and attended the University of Pittsburgh and played football there before having a seven-year career in the NFL.

The Steelers still have a multitude of candidates to consider. With the NFL draft in the rearview mirror, there is likely no rush to name a replacement for Colbert who said he planned to step down after a remarkable 23 years with the franchise.
