Louis C.K. begins comeback run with nationwide tour next week

Louis is back to performing solo — and he wants you to watch.

Comedian Louis C.K., who was accused of sexual misconduct by multiple women in 2017 as part of the #MeToo movement, is returning to stand-up comedy next week when he launches a nationwide tour.

On Wednesday, C.K. announced the tour on his website with shows in 30 cities including the Hulu Theatre at Madison Square Garden as the site of his first show on Aug. 13. He will be playing a second show the next night, according to his website, which has links to buy tickets to the tour dates.

The tour will come to a conclusion at the Orpheum Theater in Boston on Dec. 11.

In 2017, C.K., who was at the height of his notoriety in the world of stand-up comedy was accused by numerous women of masturbating directly in front of them. The New York Times reported that in 2002, C.K. invited fellow comedians Dana Min Goodman and Julia Wolov to his hotel room where he stripped naked and began masturbated.

In another Times report, comedian Rebecca Corry said that while on the set of C.K.’s TV pilot in 2005, he allegedly proposed that he go to her dressing room so that she can watch him masturbate.

C.K., poked fun at the allegations made against him in an online comedy special posted on his website.

“How was your last couple of years? How was 2018 and 2019 for you guys? Anybody else get in global amounts of trouble?” he asked the crowd. “I learned a lot. I learned how to eat alone in a restaurant with people giving me the finger from across the room.”

In 2022, C.K. will be heading international for shows in Ukraine, Germany, Denmark and Romania.
