Loudmouth pundit Andy Goldstein dismisses 'defensive' Scotland as he fires bizarre Tartan Army celebrations barb

Shock jock Andy Goldstein went on a bizarre rant after England 's toothless display against Scotland - insisting the visitors were set up to defend.

Steve Clarke 's side battered the lacklustre English at Wembley and Gareth Southgate's superstars were lucky to escape the game with a point.

Clarke's men carved out more opportunities in London with 11 compared to England's nine, and had more shots on target.

England only managed one shot at David Marshall, while Stephen O'Donnell brought a great save out of Jordan Pickford in the first half, Lyndon Dykes ' effort was cleared off the line in the second half, and Che Adams was unlucky to blaze over from a tight angle.

However, Goldstein's sour grapes on talkSPORT didn't line up with those figures.

The pundit insisted that Scotland set up to defend with almost every man behind the ball, while also firing a barb at the Tartan Army for their celebrations at the full-time whistle.

Goldstein said: "I just think England were incredibly poor. Having one shot on goal just isn't good enough.

"Having said all that, I commend Scotland for doing everything they needed to do.

"They came with a game plan, they played with nine behind the ball, it worked. Well done. They've still got a chance of qualifying and that's what it's all about.

"We saw Scotland fans celebrating like they had won the game, understandably so they are the third worst team at the tournament and they've drawn with one of the favourites for the tournament.

"I don't quite know how, but they have drawn with one of the favourites for the tournament.

"All in all, Scotland fans are very happy and England fans are very disappointed."
