Emergency services raced to a two-car crash in Kilmarnock last night.
Police attended the incident on Western Road, near Knockinlaw Road, just before 7pm on Saturday.
An eye-witness alleges hearing a loud bang on the busy road and two damaged vehicles in a stationary state.
Both of the cars involved in the crash were removed as the road was cleared.
It is not known if there were any injuries.
A police spokeswoman said: "Around 6.35pm on Saturday, 23 January, police were called to a report of a two vehicle road crash on Western Road, Kilmarnock.
"Emergency services attended and both vehicles were uplifted."
