Lou Williams says James Harden, not Giannis, should have won MVP

The Most Valuable Player award is an award that a lot of people will argue and debate over until the cows come home. In 2019, it was no different as the two top candidates were Houston Rockets superstar James Harden and Milwaukee Bucks leader Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Milwaukee’s Greek Freak ended up taking the award over Harden and it sparked the debate. Plenty of people think Harden deserved the award after putting up an incredible season averaging 36.1 points, 7.5 assists, and 6.6 rebounds and his PER was an astonishing 30.6. He also had to battle the injuries that the Rockets had suffered through and led them to a 4 seed in the West.

While taking Twitter questions on Friday night, Los Angeles Clippers guard Lou Williams was asked if Harden should have won MVP and his answer was quite simple.

Williams played with Harden in Houston in the 2016-17 season before being shipped to the Clippers in the Paul deal. He was able to get an up close and personal look at what Harden can do so it should not come as a surprise that Williams would think this way.
