Lou Williams paid his respects to LeBron James on Friday night

On Friday night, the National Basketball Association finally returned and it did so in home markets. Over the past few months, arenas have gone empty and crowds have gone quiet, but Friday was unequivocally a night in which things started to change somewhat. It was also the first night that the Los Angeles Lakers were able to hold down their home court in over nine months. It had been over nine months since the Lakers hosted a game and even though their star players were not playing, it was the first night in 10 years that the Lakers were hosting a game as the defending champions of the NBA. Lou Williams, one of the architects of the Clippers success over the past few years, was one of the players to salute LeBron James on Friday night.

Lou Williams was once a Laker and clearly respects the franchise. While he is a Los Angeles Clipper, it’s clear that the respect across the league is aligned with a north star, a north star named LeBron James.
