Lotus Exige Sport 410 20th Anniversary model offers extra prestige

LOTUS is celebrating the 20th birthday of its Exige with a special edition packed with extra goodies as standard and offered in a range of retro paint colours.

The Exige Sport 410 20th Anniversary also has loads of other exterior and interior nods to the Exige Series 1 from the year 2000. There’s a body-coloured roof, side air intake pods and rear wing, plus the black “shark fin” stone chip protector ahead of the rear wheel.

Inside the iconic British marque's two-seater sports car, buyers are offered a choice of coloured Alcantara trims and each seat is decorated with panelled stitching that echoes that of the original car.

A unique 20th anniversary black silhouette logo incorporating a striking profile image of the Series 1 also features inside and out.

It’s embroidered on the seat backs, embossed on the car’s dashboard “build plaque” and visible on the front wings above the side indicators and on the rear bumper. Distinctive “20” logos on each side of the rear spoiler add a finishing touch.

The three historic exterior colours to choose from are Chrome Orange, Laser Blue and Calypso Red. But for a contemporary look, there’s Saffron Yellow, Motorsport Black or Arctic Silver.

Standard kit includes a suspension set-up adjustable for road or track use, carbon-fibre front splitter, front access panel and tailgate, and lightweight forged alloys. Inside, you’ll get DAB digital radio with Bluetooth, cruise control and an Alcantara steering wheel – all usually optional extras.

Priced from £79,900, which Lotus says adds up to £5412 of savings over what the car should cost, buyers will still enjoy the 410bhp 3.5-litre petrol engine mated to a six-speed manual gearbox that takes the special model to 60mph in 3.3 seconds and on to a top speed of 174mph.

Global deliveries will begin later this year and marketing boss Ema Forster said: “This special edition builds on the Exige’s unrivalled levels of handling and performance. It will continue the Lotus ethos of being born for the track and bred for the road.”
