A lucky punter is getting their new year off to a great start after bagging a massive €312,042 windfall in Wednesday's Lotto draw.
The player was agonisingly close to scooping the incredible €4.3m jackpot but was just one digit short.
The numbers drawn were: 4, 5, 23, 30, 42, 47 and bonus number 3.
Lotto bosses have yet to reveal where the winning ticket was sold.
Meanwhile, there was no winner of the Lotto Plus 1 top prize of €1m.
The numbers drawn were: 11, 14, 15, 25, 36, 44 and bonus number 27.
There was also no winner of the Lotto Plus 2 top prize of €250,000.
The numbers drawn were: 5, 11, 16, 19, 34, 45 and 22.
And there were 64 winners of the Raffle prize, each picking up a cool €500.
The winning Raffle number was 8384.
