Lotto punters were enraged tonight as the app to buy tickets crashed ahead of the historic guaranteed to be won draw.
The €19 million jackpot which has been rolling over for since the last time it was won - June 6. The jackpot has also been capped at €19 million since October last year.
There was a rush to get tickets before the deadline of 7.45pm this evening and the volume of customers would appear to have crashed the lotto app which many use to buy tickets.
Many who were caught out and were unable to get their tickets took to social media to voice their anguish.
One twitter user wrote: "Wow. This is a bit of a joke eh... And now, that’s it closed and I don’t actually have a ticket. So I can safely say I actually won tonight cos my bank account is 12 quid richer than it would have been."
Another wrote: "We broke the lotto lads..."
A third said: "The lotto website has crashed."
