Cork players have been urged to check their tickets carefully after one ticket holder came agonisingly close to the massive jackpot of nearly €10 million on Wednesday night.
The National Lottery is urging players in Mitchelstown, Co Cork to check their tickets as a Cork player came within just one number of winning the mammoth €9,761,572 jackpot on offer in Wednesday night’s draw.
In total over 87,000 players won prizes on Lotto and Lotto Plus games including the Cork player who matched five numbers and the bonus number to win the €51,759 prize.
The winning Quick Pick ticket was purchased on the day of the draw at the An Post, Post Office on Upper Cork Street in the centre of Mitchelstown.
The all-important winning numbers for Saturday night’s Lotto draw were: 25, 32, 32, 41, 43, 46, and the bonus number was 45.
The winning ticket holder in Cork is advised to sign the back of their ticket and get in touch with the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie where arrangements will be made for the player to claim their prize.
With no winner of Wednesday night’s €9.7 million draw, Saturday’s Lotto jackpot is now set to roll to an estimated €10.5 million.
The current Lotto jackpot has been rolling since Wednesday, June 9.
The next winner will become the 6th Lotto jackpot winner of 2021.
With every €1 that is spent on all National Lottery games, 30 cents goes back to Good Causes in the areas of sport, health, welfare, education, arts, heritage, and the Irish language.
Since the National Lottery was established 34 years ago, €6 billion has been raised for Good Causes and in 2020 alone, €254 million was raised for local Good Causes in communities across Ireland.
